"Data room" — what the report means
The report ends with a data-room checklist. A data room is simply the organised set of your key documents — licences, contracts, staff records, policies, accounts — that a buyer's advisers ask to see so they can verify what you've told them. It's nothing technical: a clearly labelled folder (physical or online) is a data room. Assembling it in advance, calmly and in your own time, is far easier than scrambling after an offer arrives — and an organised one signals a well-run business.
